Product Wave is a mobile money company with markets in West Africa. Transport is a button on the homescreen that allows customers to buy bus and train tickets.

In Senegal, we first launched Transport with BRT (Bus Rapid Transit, also known as Sunu BRT) by offering e-ticket purchases in-app. Customers could tap on the Transport button, select a departure station, select an arrival station, and then confirm purchase. The app would automatically show an e-ticket over the homescreen that had a 1hr valid QR for them to scan on the turnstile. Within the year, we launched e-ticketing with TER (Train Express Regional) in Dakar.

Here's our amazing User Researcher, Diariétou Diop, demonstrating how the TER e-ticket and turnstile works. Diariétou played an important part of this feature's development by testing Figma prototypes with customers and testing the QR scan UX and speed as we got closer to launch.
